Sin embargo, a veces la ira lleva a las personas a reaccionar de manera irracional, por ejemplo, exagerando los hechos de un accidente o falsificando la informaci\u00f3n en un informe policial. Esto puede acarrear graves consecuencias legales. Presentar un informe policial falso no solo socava la veracidad de su reclamaci\u00f3n y pone en peligro su derecho a una indemnizaci\u00f3n, sino que tambi\u00e9n constituye un delito penal. Sin embargo, existen otros casos de falsificaci\u00f3n intencional, entre ellos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exagerar la cantidad de objetos que un ladr\u00f3n se llev\u00f3 de tu casa<\/li>\n<li>Exagerar la gravedad de tus lesiones tras un accidente<\/li>\n<li>Declarar que viste a alguien bebiendo de un envase de bebida alcoh\u00f3lica antes de que ocurriera un accidente, cuando en realidad no fue as\u00ed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Por otro lado, la mayor\u00eda de las falsificaciones no son intencionales. Una falsificaci\u00f3n involuntaria de informaci\u00f3n se produce cuando alguien proporciona accidentalmente datos err\u00f3neos a un agente de polic\u00eda. Un ejemplo com\u00fan podr\u00eda ser el de un testigo ocular que indica de forma inexacta la velocidad a la que circulaba un conductor. Las v\u00edctimas de accidentes de tr\u00e1fico tambi\u00e9n pueden relatar de forma err\u00f3nea los hechos del accidente debido al estr\u00e9s que este les provoca. Estos errores son simplemente eso \u2014errores\u2014 y no dan lugar a que se procese a una persona por presentar un informe policial falso.<\/p>\n<h2>Sanciones por presentar una denuncia policial falsa<\/h2>\n<p>La ley California establece determinadas sanciones por presentar una denuncia policial falsa. En virtud de la <a href=\"https:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/codes_displaySection.xhtml?lawCode=PEN&amp;sectionNum=148.5.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">California C\u00f3digo Penal, art\u00edculo 148.5 PC<\/a>, ... presentar una denuncia falsa de un delito ante cualquier agente del orden p\u00fablico o autoridad judicial constituye un delito menor.
